چکیده
We have developed a very active bifunctional porphyrin catalyst showing a high turnover number (TON = 103,000) for the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from CO(2) and epoxides under solvent-free conditions.

Synthesis of Chiral Cyclic Carbonates via Kinetic Resolution of Racemic Epoxides and Carbon Dioxide
The catalytic synthesis of cyclic carbonates using carbon dioxide as a C1-building block is a highly active area of research. Here, we review the catalytic production of enantiomerically enriched cyclic carbonates via kinetic resolution of racemic epoxides catalysed by metal-containing catalyst systems.
متن کاملSynthesis of Cyclic Carbonates Catalysed by Aluminium Heteroscorpionate Complexes.
New aluminium scorpionate based complexes have been prepared and used for the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and carbon dioxide. Bimetallic aluminium(heteroscorpionate) complexes 9-14 were synthesised in very high yields. The single-crystal X-ray structures of 12 and 13 confirm an asymmetric κ(2)-NO-μ-O arrangement in a dinuclear molecular disposition. These bimetallic aluminium c...

Electrocatalytic cycloaddition of carbon dioxide to epoxides in room temperature ionic liquids as reaction media without any additional supporting electrolyte and catalyst could be conducted with high to excellent performances under mild conditions.
متن کامل2,2',2''-Terpyridine-Catalyzed Synthesis of Cyclic Carbonates from Epoxides and Carbon Dioxide under Solvent-Free Conditions
An efficient coupling reaction of epoxides with CO2 affording cyclic carbonates with the use of 2,2',2''-terpyridine as catalyst under solvent-free conditions has been developed.
متن کاملThe ability of a zinc pyrrolidine complex to catalyze the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from carbon dioxide and epoxides: a mechanistic theoretical investigation.
The reaction mechanism for the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from carbon dioxide and epoxides catalyzed by a zinc pyrrolidine complex has been elucidated using the density functional level of theory. The obtained potential energy surface shows that the recently proposed zinc complex is able to efficiently and selectively catalyze the formation of cyclic carbonate using carbon dioxide. In the p...
